The company was founded in 1983 and is a privately owned Canadian corporation located in Fredericton, NB. The company provides engineering and technical support to operating CANDU power reactors and has clients throughout the CANDU industry.

Quality Management System

ISO 9000 Certification: Atlantic Nuclear's Quality Management System complies with the requirements of BS EN ISO 9001: 2000 as registered by BSI Management Systems, FS 99057.

The Management System implements (as a vendor) the following standards that are a regulatory requirement for an operating CANDU station in Canada.

CSA-N286.0-92: Overall Quality Assurance Program Requirements for Nuclear Power Plants.

CSA-N286.2-90: Design Quality Assurance for Nuclear Power Plants.

CSA-N286.5-95 (R2000): Operations Quality Assurance for Nuclear Power Plants.

CSA-N286.7-99: Quality Assurance of Analytical, Scientific and Design Computer Programs for Nuclear Power Plants.

Atlantic Nuclear performs third party reviews of design changes in accordance with CSA-N293-95: Fire Protection in CANDU Nuclear Power Plants.

Atlantic Nuclear performs piping analysis and third party reviews in accordance with the ASME Code for Class 1 and Class 2 nuclear systems.

Atlantic Nuclear's Quality Management procedures are available for review upon request.

Professional Standards

Atlantic Nuclear Services Inc. is registered with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of the Province of New Brunswick and is certified for the practice of professional engineering. Individual staff members are registered professional engineers.

The company emphasizes excellence in the performance of its staff. Participation in industry and professional associations is encouraged as a component of an overall quality science and engineering program.

Atlantic Nuclear participates in industry and trade associations to promote quality business and engineering practices. Corporate memberships and participation include:
